Opportunities for PhD student and Postdoctoral Fellow are available (see below). The candidates will work on research projects in theoretical and computational neuroscience.

We are looking for highly motivated people who share a passion of contributing to the understanding the principles of how the brain works using mathematical tools. General qualifications include strong mathematical skills, familiarity with programming, strong learning ability, good communication skills, and a strong sense of responsibility. Depending on the projects (whether it is more theoretical or more data-driven), knowledge and experiences in system neuroscience, machine learning and strong analytical skills can be highly desirable but not required.

For PhD students, you will be enrolled in either programs in Dept. of Mathematics or Division of Life Sceince. Please refer to the departmental webpages for details on requirements. Other PhD programs may also be possible but will require a co-advisor.

There are also some opportunities for advanced undergraduate students at HKUST via UROP (see the list of projects for details).

If you are interested in these opportunities, you can email me an application including a CV, a transcript (for students), and contact info of three referees (names only for now).
